The network consists of terminal nodes and gateways that work together to monitor tank conditions (e.g., temperature, levels) in real time and enable downstream control for operational efficiency.

3.2 Get Account

Contact your local representative to register a customer account on ThingsEye.io.

3.3 Get Devices

Reach out to your local representative to acquire the necessary devices for your Tank Management solution. These devices include:

  • End Nodes: For distance measurement, temperature measurement, switching control.
  • Gateway: For data transmission.

Ensure that all devices are pre-registered on ThingsEye.io before use.

3.4 Additive devices and tanks

Before deploying devices, create the device and tank models on the dashboard.

Creating a Tank

Follow these steps to create a tank:

1.General Info

  • Fill in mandatory fields like "Serial Number" and "Sensor Label."
  • Click "Next" to proceed or "Cancel" to close.

2.Tank Info

  • Select the tank shape and measurement system (Metric or Imperial).
  • Enter dimensions (e.g., length, height) based on the selected shape.
  • Choose the "Capacity Output" unit for volume calculation.

Sensor Info

  • Select the level measurement type:
    • Fill Height: Direct liquid height (e.g., float sensor).
    • Remaining Space: Empty space height (e.g., ultrasonic sensor).
  • Specify the measurement system and sensor reading units.
  • For "Remaining Space," enter the Sensor Gap to exclude the tank neck height.

Liquid Info

  • Select the fuel type from the list.

4.Save

Click "Save" to add the tank to the list and display its marker on the map.

3.5 Connect the Gateway

  1. Connect the gateway to your router using an Ethernet cable.
  2. Power on the gateway and wait for it to obtain an IP address. Ensure a stable internet connection.

3.6 Connected Devices

  1. Scan the device QR code to register it on the server.
  2. Once registered, all end nodes will automatically connect to the network.
  3. Verify device status on the platform.

3.7 Verify Dashboard

Log in to the ThingsEye.io dashboard to confirm that all devices are online and transmitting data correctly.

3.8 Placement of Sensors

  • Distance Sensor: Place at the tank mouth for accurate measurements.
  • Temperature Probe: Install if required.
  • I/O Control Switches: Follow installation instructions (if applicable).

3.9 Set Alarms for Devices

Configure alarm thresholds for level and temperature, activity status, etc. to receive notifications when conditions exceed predefined limits.
